Mishandled Archive by Tara Fatehi Irani

Tara Fatehi Irani has created an archive of 365 family documents dispersed every day for a year in public space. Mishandled Archive proposes ‘mis-handling’ as an alternative way of engaging with archives. Tara has worked with a collection of over 2000 photos and documents mostly from her family archives from Iran and dispersed 365 pieces of it around the world – from London, to Milan and back to Tehran. The 365 pieces are continued acts of resistance against vanishing memories of people and places and each a proposal for imagining new possible futures arising from these unknown pasts. See the daily documentations here.

Tara Fatehi Irani writes on the year-long project and making 365 performance-installations which shared micro-histories from her family archive from Tehran. Read the feature on Exeunt magazine.
